It’s field trip season! A time when many agencies pull together to provide Albany County School District students an opportunity to investigate the outdoors while having fun. Just a few of the programs provided this year were water chemistry, macroinvertebrates (aquatic bugs), dendrochronology, plant life cycle, fishing and fish dissection, pine beetles, canoeing, archery, chemistry, wildlife, soils, plant and tree identification, geology, mapping and orienteering, GPS, astronomy, global warming, wind energy, search and rescue, and nature hikes. These programs are offered at no charge to the school district. |
